I-PROFEN tablets<\/p>\n
Active ingredients: Each tablet contains:
\nIbuprofen 400 mg<\/p>\n
Mode of Action:
\nI-Profen Tablets contain ibuprofen which is a propionic acid class of NSAIDs with analgesic, anti-inflammatory and anti-pyretic activity through its inhibitory effect on the enzyme cyclo-oxygenase, which results in a marked reduction in prostaglandin synthesis.<\/p>\n
Indications:
\n\u2022 It is used to relieve pain and inflammation in conditions such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis (including juvenile rheumatoid arthritis or Still\u2019s disease), arthritis of the spine, ankylosing spondylitis, swollen joints, frozen shoulder, bursitis, tendinitis, tenosynovitis, lower back pain, sprains and strains.
\n\u2022 It can also be used to treat other painful conditions such as toothache, pain after operations, period pain and headache, including migraine.<\/p>\n
Posology:
\nAdults and children > 12 years: The usual daily dosage is 600-1800 mg. (Maximum dose 2400 mg in one day)
\nChildren: The usual daily dosage is 20-40 mg\/kg, given in divided doses.<\/p>\n
Precautions:
\n\u2022 Do not exceed the recommended dose or duration of treatment.
\n\u2022 The lowest effective dose should be used for the shortest duration necessary to relieve symptoms.<\/p>\n
Contraindications:
\n\u2022 Hypersensitivity to the active substance or any of the excipients.
\n\u2022 Children < 7 kg.
\n\u2022 Active or history of peptic ulcer, perforation or gastrointestinal bleeding (\u22652 episodes).
\n\u2022 Pregnancy (contraindicated in last trimester; use upon doctor\u2019s advice in the 1st and 2nd trimesters) and breastfeeding.<\/p>\n
Undesirable effects:
\nSide effects are usually mild and not everyone will suffer from them. common side effects (affects up to 1 in 10 people) include feeling dizzy or tired, diarrhea, wind, constipation, headache.<\/p>\n
