Panadrex Max Tablets<\/p>\n
Active ingredients: Each tablet contains:
\nParacetamol 500 mg
\nCaffeine anhydrous 65 mg.<\/p>\n
Mode of Action:
\nPanadrex Max contains Paracetamol which belongs to a group of medicines called analgesics and antipyretics.<\/p>\n
Indications:
\nThe tablets are recommended for the treatment of most painful and febrile conditions, for example, headaches, including migraine, backache, toothache, rheumatic pain and dysmenorrhea, and the relief of the symptoms of colds, influenza and sore throat.<\/p>\n
Posology:
\nAdults and children \u2265 16 years: 2 tablets every 4-6 hours (Do not exceed 8 tablets in 24 hours)
\nChildren 12-15 years: 1 tablet every 4-6 hours (Do not exceed 4 tablets in 24 hours)<\/p>\n
Precautions:
\n\u2022 Do not exceed the stated dose.
\n\u2022 Do not take more frequently than every 4 hours.
\n\u2022 Paracetamol overdose may cause liver failure.
\n\u2022 Used with caution in patients with renal or hepatic impairment, alcoholic liver disease, and glutathione depleted states.<\/p>\n
Contraindications:
\n\u2022 Hypersensitivity to the active substances (paracetamol, caffeine) or any of the other excipients.
\n\u2022 Do not use with any other paracetamol-containing products.
\n\u2022 Pregnancy and breastfeeding
\n\u2022 Not recommended for children under 12 years.
\n\u2022 Concomitant use with caffein is not recommended.<\/p>\n
Undesirable effects:
\nAdverse reactions identified during post-marketing use are reported voluntarily from a population of uncertain size, the frequency of these reactions is unknown but likely to be very rare (<1\/10,000). When the recommended paracetamol-caffeine dosing regimen is combined with dietary caffeine intake, the resulting higher dose of caffeine may increase the potential for caffeine-related adverse effects.<\/p>\n
Pharmacokinetic properties:
\n\u2022 Paracetamol is rapidly and almost completely absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract. It is relatively uniformly distributed throughout most body fluids and exhibits variable protein binding. Excretion is almost exclusively renal, in the form of conjugated metabolites.
\n\u2022 Caffeine is absorbed readily after oral administration. Maximal plasma concentrations are achieved within one hour and the plasma half-life is about 3.5 hours. 65 \u2013 80% of administered caffeine is excreted in the urine as 1-methyluric acid and 1-methylxanthine.<\/p>\n
